west coast tour

The West Coast of the South Island brings glaciers and beaches together for a truly unique experience. We start our journey up the coast at the Franz Josef glacier, a mighty field of ice touching dense and vibrant temperate forest. After a night in the township we head further north to see the famous pancake rocks at Punakaiki, followed by a guided walk to explore impressive caves and archways. Get your cameras ready! The beach is one of the most photographed spots on the South Island, with brilliant explosions from blowholes going off at high tide. We’ll spend the night in Greymouth, a historic gold and coal mining town that is now the largest on the West Coast. The final day takes us back to the sea at Haast Beach, where we’ll spend a few hours exploring before heading back to Queenstown.
