Traditional Maori Marae Visit

Visit an authentic working Maori Marae. In this visit you will receive a tour from a Kaumatua or ‘elder’ who will describe the legends and stories of their tribal ancestry, the construction and intricate carving of a Marae, as well as be shown Maori weaponry and tools from the past.

During your stay you will explore the Maori relationship with the land, learn to present your own traditional Mihi or introduction of yourself, and experience Maori games, food and cultural dance.

An authentic and informative experience away from the tourist destinations, with a small group giving a personal feel and involvement.

A significant part of New Zealand Heritage, and a special authentic experience of Maori culture!
