Stewart Island Tour

Experience a place unlike any other, with a permanent population of under 400 people and the majority of the land protected as part of Rakiura National Park.

Depart from Queenstown to Bluff on the far south coast of the South Island before hopping on a ferry to cross the Foveaux Straight. Arrive at your accommodation at the Oban Village, explore the local area, and enjoy dinner on the beach.

Day 2 brings an exciting challenge - a hike along the Rakiura Track, Stewart Island's wilderness 'Great Walk'. Much of the track follows along the Paterson Inlet coast line, with some sections touring through some dense bush. This day walk provides a unique opportunity to see the Southern Brown Kiwi in the wild, so keep an eye out! Those keen to explore on their own are able to do a local walk around the bays and village, to check out the local Jade Shop, or hire bikes or kayaks.

Return on the ferry the following day, feeling accomplished for having done part of one of New Zealand's Great Walks and lucky to have experienced such a remote and unique place.

This is a place not to be missed when visiting New Zealand.
