Glenorchy is the Gateway to the Aspiring National Park, and the starting point for the Routeburn Great Walk. Nestled under towering Peaks such as Mt Earnslaw and the Earnslaw Glacier it is surrounded by National Parks.

It is also home to many, many scenes from the iconic Lord of the Rings Movie Trilogy.

Enjoy a great day out exploring Glenorchy, the Mighty Dart River, and an area known as ‘Paradise’ at the stunning entrance to the ancient Beech Forest of the Aspiring National Park.

On your way we’ll show you movie clips and introduce you to the filming locations of LOTR scenes.
