description

Ready to take the next step in your climbing career and learn to lead climb?  This course is designed for those who have some experience top-rope sport climbing, and who are ready to advance to lead climbing.  This course will equip you to both belay a lead climber, and lead climb yourself.

We will discuss and practice strategy and technique, safely placing draws in pre-bolted routes, creating and using anchors, and belaying guidelines for single pitch lead climbing.  This course focuses on small teaching groups and hands-on practice and experience.  By the end of the day, you will have the basic knowledge and skills necessary to lead climb single pitch climbs independently.

This is an intermediate course for those who already have some climbing experience.  To enroll, you must be consistently on-site climbing at grade level 16 or higher on top rope.  If this isn't you, please contact us to enroll in one of our climbing experience courses, where we can work with you on movement, technique, and strategy to help you develop the skills necessary to enroll in this course.
